DOES ROCK DESIGNS ONLY BUILD ROCK POOLS?  Our specialty is constructing man-made rockscapes, swimming pools and water features, but we also build award-winning contemporary pools.
I'M OUTSIDE LOS ANGELES.  HOW DO I PICK A GOOD CONTRACTOR? Check references.  Make sure the contractor is licensed to work in your state, and insured for liability and workers compensation. Sign a written contract with progress payments and specifications of the work to be done. You might get a lower price by hiring someone unlicensed, but your state's contractors board cannot help you with a problem about job completion or quality of workmanship, even if you have paid for the work. 
WHY IS EXPERIENCE SO IMPORTANT?  Don't mess with amateurs who build waterfalls or pools as a part-time job. It takes artistic talent, troubleshooting skills, and extensive knowledge of construction methods and engineering to do the job right. WHY USE MAN-MADE ROCKS? Man-made rockwork is more versatile when executing complex designs. Real boulders limit the type of structure you can create. When there is real rock in view from the project property, man-made rockwork can be textured and colored to simulate indigenous rock.
